Making restaurant tables festive for the holidays

xmastable.jpegChristmas is fast approaching and in many parts of the world, and it’s a sure bet that dining tables both at home and in restaurants will somehow be festooned for the occasion. Lots of people dine out especially during the holiday season: after shopping for Christmas presents (after all, preparing a meal at home after a day on your feet simply seems like too much work), on Christmas Day itself, and on New Year’s Eve. It’s a time for celebration, and many people just want to go out and enjoy the holiday cheer where they don’t have to worry about cleaning up afterwards!

There have been neat Christmas table decorations I’ve seen at many restaurants over the years. Most of them are quite simple, really. I could see that the ornaments weren’t that expensive. Still, they didn’t look cheap at all.

Most restaurants have color themes they follow during the holidays: red, green, gold, silver. And the table décor reflect these themes. Here are some examples of items that are part of modern café furniture or restaurant furniture this month:

  • Brightly-colored tablecloths, or those with Christmas-inspired patterns
  • Candles decorated with beads or ribbons
  • Glasses or other stemware filled nuts, beads or small bright balls
  • Small wreaths used as table napkin holders at each place setting, or ribbons on which small bells are attached
  • Several small, gaily-wrapped and beribboned boxes as table centerpieces
  • Table napkins with holiday patterns, like snowmen, Christmas trees, snowflakes

These and other small decorative items will entail additional operational expenses, but like I mentioned earlier, they don’t have to be expensive. Simple things, when added up, can have a great impact and having customers enjoy how festive their table looks can only enrich their dining experience during the holidays.
